Tonight, there’s a documentary fiction about the Canadian fighter plane, Avro Air’s Arrow.
And guess who worked on the Arrow? My daddy, that’s who! Now how is that for cool? I’ll be watching with bated breath just in case they used real names and he happens to be mentionned. I’m so proud of him.
Too bad it didn’t get made in the end… but I don’t think I’d be here if it had.

There’s been tonnes of made-for-tv-movies about the Avro Arrow that come up on TV fairly regularily. It’s sort of a Canadian legend.

This is the first one I’ve seen. He’s only said recently that he worked for them.
And kinda weird to think Canada would have been first and foremost in the aviation industry if not for that jackass who cancelled it, right?

Well, Avro was already a pretty big name at the time. They developed the Lancaster bomber which was very popular with the Brits.

They should have been popular, Avro were a British company lol. Actually even Avro Canada were British owned by Hawker.
